Fan and Pad System for Greenhouse Cooling

February 11, 2010 on 9:11 am | By admin | In Technology | Comments Off

Using a fan and pad system is another effective method of greenhouse cooling.  At one end of the greenhouse, a pump is used to circulate water through a porous pad that is installed into the wall.  At the other end is an exhaust fan which pulls the outside air, through the pad, and into the greenhouse.  As the air passes through the pad, it evaporates the water, creating a cooling effect.  Although this method is effective, it is also rather expensive.  It also fails to provide an even climate throughout the greenhouse, as the temperature by the pad is cooler than the temperature by the fan.
