Will Flight Instructor Jobs Become Available Soon?

Did you ever stop and think how much flight instructor jobs are affected by airline employment?  Flight instructor employment has typically been viewed by many commercial pilots as a stepping stone toward finding an airline pilot job.  For that reason alone, when airline pilot hiring begins to slow, so too does the rate of flight instructor attrition.  When airline pilots get furloughed, it typically happens in reverse-seniority order.  Many of these junior airline pilots still have ties to the flight instructor jobs they recently left.  This often allows them to go back to their old flight instructor positions.The good news is that this should all end and reverse toward a pilot hiring frenzy.  As the issues that have plagued airline pilot hiring begin to die off, flight instructor hiring should start soon after.
