My Take On “Public”

March 15, 2012 on 9:59 am | By | In Business

Can you run a billion dollar company? If you can, then someone will pay you the big bucks. The talent pool able to run those companies is a lot smaller than the talent pool at the clerical level. As for tax breaks, there are only two types of taxpayers, net taxpayer and net tax consumer advice. As long as they pay one dollar more in taxes than what they consumed in services and or cash benefits they are net taxpayers. Did you pay more than you per capita share of the tax load? If not then you are a net tax consumer. The CEO’s only get one vote, just like you. So why should they more in taxes than you? When you pay your per capita portion of the tax load then you can complain. Until then be glad there are still enough people that are paying their share and yours.

Criticism On “The CEO Bankruptcy Bonus”

March 14, 2012 on 5:14 am | By | In Business

Mr. Sevita – I do corporate turnarounds and restructuring for small buiness (and am quite familiar with bankruptcy law. My observations are that when a party gets away with something really immoral, that thing is aslo illegal; and the reason that the crook wins is that an incompetent free lawyer advice represents the victims.

The other point to keep in mind, is that creditors rank ahead of equity holders. So an equity holder being unfairly squeezed may have to purchase some debt or even offer DIP financing, to protect his stake.

Vigilance is always the order of the day.

I will not go into other details for now.

Commentary On “Immigration Audits Drive Illegal Workers Underground”

March 13, 2012 on 1:58 am | By | In Business

Mr. Shatner,

While these two workers were definitely hardworking and making a reasonable wage for their efforts, they were far from honest. If you are undocumented, then you have no right to live and work in the US. Undocumented means you are breaking a basic law of the country you are living in. There’s also the very high likelyhood that they were using falsified documents to obtain the vehicle they purchased, get hired at the various places of employment, and rent the home they were living in. No, these people were not honest.

Did you see anywhere in the article where the couple stated that they were going to try to become legal citizens advice scotland of the U.S.? No, you didn’t.

That does not mean that I do not have compassion for them and their children. Their situation is of their own making, however, and they need to work to become legal citizens (which should be much easier with their children being naturalized citizens).

An Opinion On “Teacher Training Is Panned”

March 12, 2012 on 3:43 pm | By | In Business

I am a recently laid off teacher from Illinois. I graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University, one of the premier teacher education schools in the country. I completed three majors (Politics and Government, Geography, and Geography/Social Science Education). I graduated with a GPA of 3.99. When I went to interview for jobs, MULTIPLE school districts told me that I had done too well in school to teach in their district. Essentially, I was too smart to teach. Go ahead and blast teachers and teacher education programs; however, if school districts want mediocrity, if they want mediocre students to teach in their schools, explain to me how it is the fault of teachers and teacher education programs for giving them exactly what they want.

Analysis On “GOP Balks at Taxes to Finance Jobs Plan”

March 11, 2012 on 1:28 pm | By | In Business

It bears repeating that the overwhelming majority of small business advice businesses make less than $100,000 annually and employ one or two people. The largely mythical small business owner who makes a lot of money is trotted out to serve as cover for the wealthy professionals and corporations this closing of tax loopholes will actually impact. If we are going to have a poster child, it should be a hedge fund manager or a lawyer in a silk stocking firm, not the person who runs the corner store.

Proof that the targeting of the tax measures is where it should be is the outrage on the WSJ editorial pages and in these comments. John and Jane Doe, perhaps making a combined $100,000 a year, are not the people complaining.

My Analysis On “Hackers New Target: Small Firms With Lax Security”

March 10, 2012 on 8:43 pm | By | In Business

The lowest of the low hackers who downloads a hacker program to make a quick buck. It seems odd that when big smart and IT advanced companies like PayPal, large banks, government agencies, even our military defense system are hacked, why do we expect the general public or small business advice business to know any more or have the same skills to prevent this from happening.

The internet should be a safe place to shop, search or explore without all these security checks to consider.Credit card companies, banks, law enforcement both state and federal should have cleaned this up years ago. On the law enforcement side, local police don’t help with cyber crime, and the federal law enforcers don’t really care about small business or personal hacks, small fish, while credit card companies make money both ways the banks are happy to have the hackers account making money on transfer fees. Suppliers get fresh orders for computers and terminals as if this will remedy the problems. Meanwhile this cycle continues as if all is safe.

This is a racket that goes far deeper than this article is willing to touch on in order to prevent a rush to trash our credit cards for what they really are. Pieces of plastic with bank access to free money to all who steal or hack it.

Lets get back to paying with good old cash, but then all those online sales would dry up and so would a lot of banks, not to mention those hackers who would now dry up.

The Online Background Screening Services

March 10, 2012 on 6:43 am | By | In Business

There are different scenarios in which it is important to verify all the academic history, employment detail, martial status etc. These are normally performed by organization when they hire new employees, for migration, for further education plans and similarly many other situations. This way fraud and scams can be avoided. For verification there is no need to go anywhere, you can do this online from various authentic websites for background screening services. One such online link for this purpose is Intelli Corp; this is a very efficient link to verify all the legal documents. You just have to say money for verification of each document but the result they provide are valid.
