Embellishments Make Unique cards

December 26, 2009 on 4:29 am | By admin | In Arts

A few months ago I was buying a batch of greeting cards for my friends and family when I noticed a couple of things/ The cards were extremely expensive to buy and the designs all looked much the same as each other. I thought that I could probably have done a better job myself and saved a whole load of money in the process. So I decided to have a go at creating my own homemade greeting cards. I bought card blanks in different shapes and sizes and different colours, some peel off stickers and added some finishing touches with some card making embellishments and glitter. I was worried that my friends would not like my creations, but I was very wrong – they absolutely loved them!

Letter of Rec From a Client

December 14, 2009 on 8:57 am | By admin | In Arts

There are few milestone events in ones life more important than their wedding. After all, most of us only do it once.

It was with that in mind that my fiancée, Samantha, and I sought out a new york city wedding photographer . Our decision to choose Angela Cappetta was almost made before we even saw her portfolio. We met at her cozy apartment in Tribeca. Original works by Sally Mann and Henri Cartier Bresson hung from her walls, an artfully chosen Macintosh computer lay in one corner broadcasting Thelonius Monk. Angela’s charm and exuberance outshone Monk and Mann. But in the end, it was her portfolio that solidified our conviction.

As it turned out, Angela surpassed our greatest expectations. Her eye was faithful and sincere. Her images captured everything we experienced that night, as well as everything we missed.  From the intimate moment when Samantha placed the ring on my finger, to the hysterical scene of my father-in-law hoisted above the crowd on a dangerously unsteady chair, Angela seemed to capture it all.

What is most amazing is that she captured everything so inconspicuously. To Samantha and  I, nothing is worse at a wedding than a photographer that overpowers the event with flashes, pushy assistants, and overt set-ups.  Angela moved through all aspects of the evening with grace and subtlety.  We hardly knew she was there at all.

That is not to say that Angela lacks a strong presence. It is her presence, after all, that draws people to her, that puts her subjects at ease and that enables her to work from behind the lens. Nothing looks posed.

Not only were we thrilled with the photographs she delivered to us just three weeks after the wedding, but her customer service was flawless, her friendliness a complete pleasure. The hardest part of the experience of working with Angela was trying to edit photographs for our album. There simply were no bad photographs.  Image after image had a great composition, was flattering, and most importantly, completely unique without taking away from the traditional nature the event.

We now have a beautiful album that contains images that will truly remind us of how wonderful our wedding day was. And we have a new friend, as we are confident that we will be seeing lots more of Angela in the future.

Sincerely,

H. M. Baker

Managing Free Song Downloads

November 21, 2009 on 6:11 am | By admin | In Arts

Free song downloads can get disorganized after a while. You might get songs from a certain band, or songs with a certain name in the title, or generally songs from a certain genre. Once you have downloaded the songs, it is best if you would take the time to organize them so that you could find and play the song you downloaded easily. One simple thing you can do for free song downloads is to rename the files in such a way that you can remember, be it artist first then title of the song or vice versa. You can also play around with the mp3 tags to make organization and searching smoother for you.

I Need the Best Vocal Training Software

November 12, 2009 on 4:40 am | By admin | In Arts

A few years ago I decided to start singing and I got some quality lessons from a well known vocal coach.  After a few lessons she turned me loose and suggested I keep working on those techniques.  I started looking for the best vocal training software because it was a way to keep taking lessons.  Continuing the same lessons wasn’t working so I started looking at some of the courses by well known vocal teachers.  There are some real, legitimate ones out there and they cover most of what you need to progress as a beginner or intermediate singer.  I advise you get one with a real, historical performance.

Singing Lessons on CD

November 7, 2009 on 1:55 am | By admin | In Arts

You can get singing lessons through a lot of different mediums.  You may try some singing lessons on cd.  I like this format because you can take a CD into your car or you can play it on your portable player while you’re walking around.  Besides a CD, you could make the songs into digital format for travel with you.  I like to take them while I’m walking my dog.  Just squeezing in a few minutes of singing practice per day can make a huge difference eventually.  The most important thing is consistency of practice.
